Yellen calls on China to work with the United States to address climate change

Climate change is at the top of the list of global challenges, and the United States and China must work together to confront this existential threat. I think continued cooperation between the United States and China on climate finance is critical. As the world’s two largest emitters of greenhouse gases and the largest investors in renewable energy, we have a shared responsibility and ability to lead the way. It is also important that we encourage economy-wide shifts towards net zero, which must include the private sector.
